For the past two weeks we've been having an amazing time with Mike, one of the past0rs from our home ch^rch, Knox. We've had a great time hosting him, going for walks, attending his lectures at B!ble college, consulting, chatting, etc.
A few really fun stories that have helped make his experience truly Russian:
1) he arrived and his luggage didn't. It took a full 6 days for his luggage to find us here in Tyumen.
2) at Discussion Club we celebrated Thanksgiving by candlelight, because the power was off at the Cultural Center.
3) Mike went swimming with some DClubbers. Yes, they had to break through the ice to go swimming.
4) Our hot water and heat were turned off for two days while Mike was here visiting with us.
5) Mike attended a hockey game here in Tyumen to really experience what hockey is supposed to be like... and the temperature inside is as cold as it is outside... just no wind.
6) the black ice here is as dangerous for pedestrians as it is for drivers, so Mike has had to negotiate treacherous sidewalks daily.
we're gonna miss him. It's been really encouraging, uplifting, and just plain fun to have him around.
Join us in our adventure as we strive to follow our calling and live life on purpose.

Our Tyumen: the Kitchen
How about a tour of our kitchen.
Meet the kitchen table. Isn't it cute? Everything is cute. It has to fit in this small kitchen. It's that size where if there's one of you, it's fine --> but two people get in each others' way... just provides opportunities to dance in the kitchen!
Here's the view from the hallway into the kitchen. You can see the door to the loggia (balcony) and the few cupboards that we have. We have NO drawers.
Here's the view from the loggia into the kitchen where you can see our sweet wallpaper on the cupboards and our rather narrow fridge.
